Finding a new way of living for 24 mentally disabled people – such was the challenge when designing this project. The idea was to promote, using the form of organization of the residential home with 4 apartments and several communal rooms, the rather familiar relationships between the residents, and to facilitate their reintegration into society. Each apartment offers its residents the possibility to both withdraw to their private rooms and to enjoy one another's company in clearly structured informal groups of no more than 6 people. The protected exteriors allow safe contact with the home's surroundings and with nature. The floor plan has been expressly left open to generously permit a variety of uses and even a later conversion of the building.
