A TOWER IN THE PARK. Over a period of 100 years, on a turn-of-the-century property, thuja, box, yew and laurel trees had been growing into a strong ensemble, forming a playful, park-like landscape. The idea of living amongst the treetops, as it were, and having interiors and exteriors merging into one another quickly led to the concept of a vertical development, a residential tower with a footprint of 6.60 by 6.60 meters. The 1st and 2nd floors each accommodate a bathroom and bedrooms, while the 3rd floor holds a living, dining and cooking «one-room concept», and the top floor contains the study and work room and the roof terrace, a prefabricated wood structure assembled on the site within just a few weeks. The open, yet cozy room concept and choice of materials makes one feel protected and still in touch with the outside world. In every corner of the house, one can feel the presence of the trees and the exterior spaces both near and far. Truly a tower to live and dream in.
